How To Kid - Proof Your Carpet

As Electrodry’s resident blogger and mum I now know what type of damage kids can do to a beautiful carpet. Having been out on the road with our technicians I’ve seen carpets treated like the dinner table, turned into footie fields and used as a canvas for some farfetched works of art. My girls are the same, they never wipe their feet when they run in from outside, and are cavalier when it comes to dropping food and spilling drinks on the carpet.

Let’s face it, our kids will make mess and there is nothing worse than having dirty or unsanitary carpets. Even worse, stains can be permanent if not treated or protected against and that means spending more $$$$$$. On a serious note, you would be astonished and shocked at what lives in an unclean carpet so it’s important to make sure they are protected for your family.

Regular cleaning with a good quality vacuum: Vacuuming once a week with a good quality vacuum removes the abrasive dry soils (dirt, dust & debris) that grinds against the carpet when walked on. 

Door mats, indoors and outdoors: Stop the dirt at the door using entrance mats. The high traction surface effectively removes the dirt and grime from your shoes before it damages the carpet.
