Couches come in all different shapes, materials and patterns, and different fabrics present different challenges. At Electrodry, we’ve developed different procedures for different kinds of material, to make sure that we clean your couch or sofa without damaging the material.
White Cotton and Linen Fabrics: These fabrics are often delicate, and are prone to watermarking if they get too wet. So instead of cleaning them using hot water extraction, we clean them by hand. This involves applying dry cleaning solutions that break down stains, and then doing the cleaning rinse with cloths, by hand. This method is sometimes less effective than hot water extraction, but it will prevent damage.
Patterned cotton and Linen fabrics: The risk with natural coloured fabrics is colour migration or bleeding. To prevent this, we use a pre-spray to stabilise the colours. After that, we can generally proceed as normal with dry cleaning solutions and hot water extraction.
Synthetic Fabrics: Synthetic fabrics can be cleaned using the hot water extraction method, as well as our signature dry cleaning solutions. Once clean, your furniture should take 4-6 hours to dry before being used again.
