Electrodry are the experts in stain and dirt removal. Based in Tweed Heads, the Electrodry team recognise that different upholstery fabrics require a different approach. Here’s our method:
White Cotton and Linen Fabrics: Light coloured natural fabrics such as cotton and linen are susceptible to watermarks and browning if they get too wet. Because of this, your technician will dry clean light natural upholstery, using solutions similar to those used by clothing dry cleaners. It can be difficult to get the same results as with hot water extraction, but the gentler, water-free process is necessary to look after your upholstery.
Patterned cotton and Linen fabrics: Patterned natural fabrics tend to be more processed than white upholstery, and as a result more durable. However, there is a risk of colour bleeding. To avoid this, we prepare the lounge or chair with a pre-spray that stabilises colours and prevents watermarking. We also use a dry cleaning solution that breaks up oils that bind dirt to the fabric, making stains easier to lift. During this process we treat the upholstery with Healthguard, as part of our cleaning solutions. The last step is to flush it all out, using a hot water extraction clean. It should all be dry within 4-6 hours, and ready to sit on!
Synthetic Fabrics: We use two cleaning solutions on synthetic fabrics such as polyurethane and polyester. First, a neutral pre-spray to break down oils, and then a water emulsified dry cleaning solution for heavier stains. We finish with a hot water extraction clean to rinse away contaminants.
